Can You Help??

Help required for bush Fire Recovery

I am a former police officer and currently deploying with a not for profit volunteer organisation named Team Rubicon (TRA). Our members are mostly military and first responder veterans. We carry out disaster relief operations to help communities recover from fires, floods, droughts etc.

We are currently operating four deployments in New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia and the ongoing unprecedented bush fires have stretched our manpower resources. The recovery process is forecast to continue for many months. We need more “Boots On The Ground”.

Volunteers with first responder experience, such as retired police officers, are very well equiped to deploy into disaster areas and maximise the hands-on effort. We already have several serving and ex-police officers who enjoy deploying with likeminded colleagues. They find the camaraderie both mentally and physically therapeutic.

The current national disaster could be  a unique opportunity for volunteer police to provide hands-on assistance to those tragically affected. It could also provide an opportunity for police to increase public awareness and recognition of the contribution police officers make to communities.

Deployments last for 7/8 days and we are dispatched by air or ground transport to a Forward Operating Base (FOB) where barrack style accomodation and meals are provided at no cost to volunteers.

If you are able to help by pointing your members to the TRA website www.teamrubiconaus.org & encouraging them to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI), it would be very much appreciated.
